p.1 #1 · Voigtländer VM Nokton 50mm f1.0 focusing ring issue
Hi! I recently came across a great deal on a VM Nokton 50mm f1.0 lens. All seemed well for a few days, but then the lens has developed a problem: the focusing ring can turn beyond both the near and long end of its range. This must be a problem since this lens does not have any special "near focusing" or "beyond infinity focusing" feature. I fear that in continued use the problem will get worse until something goes badly wrong.
The default option is to return it, but it really was a great deal so I am thinking of other options. Firstly I will contact the seller for warranty details: I am in Germany same as he, so the Voigtländer Europe warranty applies ie. the lens must be taken back to the dealership where it was bought from.
In case the warranty is over, the second option is why I am writing here: is there hopefully a trivial way to fix this myself? Is there simply a screw somewhere that I need to tighten? If I have to take anything apart at all to reach that screw, then I am not doing it on my own risk.
The last option is to get a partial refund and use that money to get the lens serviced out of warranty. For this option my question is, which camera repair shops in EU are good with CV lenses?

Not sure I understand exactly what you are saying-
This is common on the long end of the range if you are just talking about focusing past infinity- For example infinity may very well not be at the hard stop of the lens but just before it. Its actually an annoyance of mine with some of the other non Leica lenses I have-
This lens MFD is .9m so you shouldn't see anything before the stop of the RF patch for minimum.
Is this what you are expirencing or am I not understanding it properly?

I am saying that the focusing ring will turn beyond the infinity marking, as well as beyond the 0.9m meter marking. and when that happens, it makes a "scrounghy" sound if that is even a word.
edit: it's not about the rangefinder coupling or seeing out of focus images, it is simply a mechanical observation that the focusing ring goes where it shouldn't.

I took the lens to a Voigtländer dealer (Calumet Photo in Berlin). They quickly saw that the focusing has an issue and the lens is now on it's way to Petzvalstrasse, Braunschweig for service.
Here is hopefully a picture that shows the problem more clearly than my writing...
