Has anyone had this problem and fixed it or had it repaired? On the A7iv the joystick (aka multi-select center button) is supposed to go up and down and also left and right, such as when moving the autofocus box. But on one of my A7iv's the joystick only moves the AF box sideways, not up or down. The button is not jammed, but moving it up or down does nothing. I've checked the settings and there seems to be no setting that results in this behavior. So I believe the button itself is defective and likely needs to be replaced.
Sony's authorized repair place (Precision Camera Repair) estimates about $700 (with shipping) for any A7iv repair. The camera is out of warranty. Is there a less expensive option, or do-it-yourself option? Thanks in advance!
I think you can also set the Control wheel to move the focus point, this may cost you any other functions that you have assigned to the wheel but it may provide a work-around.

I really appreciate your reply! The Multi-Selector is not locked in that menu. It works to move the AF box left or right, just not up or down.
Thanks to your suggestion, I was able to set the Control wheel to move the AF box up or down. It didn't cost me any other functions as I previously had the Control wheel set to do nothing. With this new setting I have a very good workaround and can likely avoid or delay the expense of replacing the Multi-Selector.
I found a replacement Multi-Selector on AliExpress and may try to replace it myself, but I'm glad now there is no urgency.
