Hi Ross. This set resonates with me much more than your previous Death Valley set. Not sure why as your photography is always awesome. I'm particularly enjoying 1,2 and 6. Thanks for sharing!

I appreciate that you turned your camera left at Zabriskie — there’s a lot of lovely landscape in that direction, isn’t there! That may be my favorite of the set. I also like the one with the warm toned blowing sand in the dunes.

Ross: This is high quality imagery. But I have to say that your earlier instalment was superior. The light in many of these is somewhat harsh.
My previous reply to you appears to have been deleted (along with one of your posts). As I said in my PM to you, I respect your observations.

Ross, I am late to the party here Have just been super busy. Anyway, love all of them but the sand dunes are just magical. Love your work.....thanks for sharing.

I’ve been processing more images from my Death Valley visit and am struck by the limitless compositional possibilities in this vast, ruggedly beautiful Park. This set includes dunes, clouds, mountains, badlands, and a rainbow. Each time I leave here I feel that I have not even begun to scratch the surface, and yearn for the next opportunity to experience and photograph this special place.
I'm curious what lens focal lengths you're typically using? I really like your work and am attempting to push my own skills in the area of telephoto landscapes. I have a ways to go!

Thanks Keith! I tend to see more with telephoto eyes than I do with wide angle, and generally I’ll use a couple zooms covering the 24-400mm range (plus a 3rd lens for occasional 14 or 16mm). The focal lengths for this set in order were 24, 141, 291, 400, 382, 75, 333, 51, 345, 60.

Wow, some long glass there. I guess it makes some sense since telephoto compression, while noticeable at 85, 135, etc., really come into play at closer to 300mm.
In my world, landscapes are shot at 15mm and by the time I'm at 50mm I'm starting to feel sort of boxed in.
