I had some United miles I'd been sitting on, so I found some available flights for a quick turn and burn from Okinawa to Osaka yesterday (Feb 25th) to get up there and get the english update. I only made a daytrip out of it because honestly Osaka is pretty chaotic, and I've got a week of vacation on the books next week already.
10am flight from Naha, with a 1hr plane change in Fukuoka, landed in Osaka ITM (closer to city center) at 2pm.
I made the appointment with Nikon for 3:30 to allow time for public transit, but opted to just take a cab since it was easier.
Arrived right after 3, the staff was happy to check me in early, did some paperwork on camera "intake" and gave me a number buzzer thing, and asked me to enjoy the gear on display while I wait ~30 minutes.
When I pulled my ZF out to play with their lenses, the dude said "Ooooh, thank you for being a good Nikon customer!".
They had every Z lens and camera, and a lot of the newer/later F lenses. Even had a 58/1.2 Noct-Nikkor.
The new 70-200/2.8 II really impressed me, although I'm not the market for it.
The language load took about 30min, didn't reset my camera at all (I was worried about that). Cost Y6050.
After that, grabbed some sushi, did a little shopping (pop mart to get my wife a labubu lol), then over to Kitamura at Namba Station. They had the PGYtech cfexpress/SD card reader I'd been looking at, so I grabbed one. Amazing spread of cameras and lenses.
Made it back to the airport (KIX this time) in time to get some dinner before my 8pm flight, got back home in Okinawa around 11pm.
Long day lol.
