p.1 #1 · Nikon D780 - All of a sudden experiencing Focusing issues
Hello, I have been shooting with a Nikon D780 for 4 years and using a Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary for the past 2-3 years. Never an issue until now. The last 3 times I have picked up the camera I started noticing focusing issues which all seem to happen (at least for now) just at the start, after trying for several minutes and finally getting it to focus, it is fine for the rest of the time. Weird right? At first I thought it was the lens, I updated the camera's firmware (the lens' is up to date) and yesterday I tested it with a Nikon lens at a Wrestling Match. To my dismay, it did it again. Again, it was just the first minute or so, once I got it to focus, it was fine for the entire time, took like 2,000 pictures with no issues. My fear is that this could get worse and at some point not focus no matter what I do, I have an event in March that I need to photograph where I will need to take a few thousands of pictures and I do not want the camera to fail me in the middle of it.
Has anyone experience this? I can try to clean the contact points in the camera but could it be something more serious?
