As a comparison: Zeiss recently went 10 years, during which time they made just one stills photo lens. Viltrox has been making stills lenses for eight years. They are probably not interested in manufacturing cameras at this stage, having said as much in 2023. Their industrial philosophy centers on supply chain optimization and vertical integration:

I thought more along the lines of DJI doing the cameras and Viltrox being the premier lens brand of a Chinese lens ecosystem, with other brands like Laowa, Sirui and Songraw occupying other tiers or niches.

Simply because its not profitable enough. Germany is a country with high production costs, they cant compete with companies like Viltrox in terms of production cost, and I am afraid in terms of speed of decision making and development. Viltrox is a very agile company.
Here is interesting statement from Sigma CEO Kazuto Yamaki
Yamaki-san expressed respect for brands like Meike and Viltrox and that more choices are better for customers. He is also impressed by the speed with which Viltrox develops new lenses and rapid improvements. He respects Viltrox. He stated that Sigma must learn from their quick decision-making.
I haven’t reached for my Viltrox lenses much lately, as I’ve grown increasingly fond of my Nikon zooms. But a few days ago, I decided to take the 85 Pro out for a walk in the rain.
Taken with Viltrox X mount 75mm @ f1.8, 1/60ss and my X-T5 handheld. Also held in my left hand the tiny Godox IT-30 Pro mini flash with the clip on diffuser. Really convenient for quick setups moving around with flash. First shots with 75mm lens and the tiny flash, I am relying on TTL set to neg 0.3, as the flash distance varies with each shot. Still, the flash is just a bit hot. Have since ordered the Godox MF-12 dome diffuser to fit on the IT 30 and it should soften the flash quite a bit. Love the lens....sharpness is great, bokeh is great and the colors pop, what a buy for only $296.
