Just when Tamron is about to announce 35-100 f2.8, there is news of CP+ show displaying Samyang 28-135 f2.8. I hope the weight of the latter is not going to prove prohibitive!
just by looking at the picture,
the length of the lens probably is close to 140mm ish..
the weight would definitely be heavy... (i expect that to be > 2 lbs...or 1 kg...)...
I'm excited for this lens. If it focuses reliable and is sharp enough, count me in. Completely replaces the 24-105 for me.
Oh, and they teased a new Eye of Sauron! 200mm 1.8.... count me innnnnnnnn.

I see the 28-135/2.8 - if it ever hits stores - as competition with the 35-150/2-2.8; and those are some big shoes to fill. However, if it were able to match or exceed the performance at the same size and weight or lighter, it would be extremely attractive travel lens.
I have been using the tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 for 2 years. I am disappointed companies are not releasing something better than what already exist, and instead going backward. Even releasing a v2 of 35-150 with weather sealing/better durability/faster focusing/internal zoom will be a better move.
That's an excellent range! I could have seriously considered that but I already got a brand new Sigma 28-105/2.8 DG DN Art for my A7V. It's a great all-arounder especially for doing environmental street portraits and then head to the beach.
That 20-50/2 would be perfect for almost all of my vacation images. Add the 14/4 Viltrox and an 85/2 and I’d be set. Hopefully it will come in at around 550g or so.

I have heard quite good things about the 14-24 - do you have a different position?
Yes, would be great to see this come in at under the size and weight of the 35-150 - it doesn't go to f/2 after all - and have both fast AF and excellent IQ. 135 is my sweet spot for candid portraits
