With the recent really cold nights here in south Florida, the iguana population has been hit pretty hard. When the temperature drops low enough they fall out of the trees. At Wakodahatchee Wetlands they often end up in the water - alligator food.

There is quite a variety of iguanas in the Wetlands. I guess because i am not a permanent resident of south Florida, I like the prehistoric looking buggers. I don't have to put up with the damage they do.
Very nice image. I do live here in South Florida and while acknowledging the problems they create, I am fascinated by their beauty and curious antics. It is as sad that they have been so decimated by the recent unseasonable cold weather as it is disappointing that so many have taken such joy in their demise. They also make interesting and excellent photographic subjects; here are a few of mine.
They are a mix of Fuji GFX ll / GF 500f 5.6 and Nikon Z9 / Z 400 f 4.5 captures.
