3 years ago my wife & I had the great honor to accomopany my then 3-year old great-niece on her Make-A-Wish dream trip to Disneyworold with her parents. It was discovered in 2022 that Abigail had brain cancer and she underwent intense surgery, with ongoing brain scans every few months (and one episode of a bit more cancer with a 2nd surgery). That original post if you want to see is here: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1797108/
Her scans have looked good for the last year or more and we all decided to celebrate her 3-years anniversary of that Make-A-Wish trip and retrun to the magic of WDW a couple weeks ago. It was another memorable time with our beloved family and I wanted to post this fresh set of images I made of now 7-year-old Abigail, so that the FM community could enjoy and celebrate her with me. Abigail has developed some spiciness to go along her sweetness which you may pick up in expressions such as image #2. In the final image #13 you see her collapsed in dad’s arms from sheer theme park exhaustion.
All of your past encouraging comments and prayers have meant so much, and we hope she continues to be blessed with much more life as each day passes. Thanks for allowing me to share this very important part of life with you all!

Equipment notes:
I have been shooting Sony for three years beginning with Abigail’s first trip in 2023, but for this project I decided to try the Nikon Z8 just for something fresh. I obtained the Megadap adapter to utilize my E mount optics, but due to some incopatibility issues, I bought a Z mount Tamron 28-75/2.8 G2 and ended up using that on all of these images (except for #8 which was an iPhone grab when Abigail suddenly stopped playing in order to soak up the sublime Florida winter sun). I have used the same model Tamron on my A7RV and really enjoy it, and it performed beautifully on the Z8, with a wonderful weight and balance that was no problem to carry all day. The camera itself felt like coming home to my past Nikon D850’s, only better. I used to shoot the Z9 but the Z8 is a better fit for me ergonomically. It appears I will be joining others here as a dual-system shooter for the forseeable future.
