That the caning on the back of that chair has held up is a tribute to its maker! My grandmother, who could do pretty much anything as far as I can tell (except drive - she never did even once as far as i know), caned a bunch of chairs like that, same pattern.

The chair hit my eye almost immediately "pc"!
It is in fine condition, the caning that is, for its age.
