great shot morris. must be a good number of wood ducks in the new york city area. you have a knack for finding them. thanks for sharing. they are really beautiful birds.
I wonder if Visine or Lumify would get the red out?
Eric
Thank you Eric,
You also want to avoid putting this duck through the white laundry!

nice head shot Morris, good control of exposure against the background
Thank you Ari,
Mirrorless takes a few steps away from getting great exposures when compared to using a dSLR.

Thank you Wendall,
About 10 years ago 6 wood ducks moved into Kissena Park and started a colony. They have now explored the area moving into all the ponds within 1 mile or so of Kissena Park. When it's very cold all the ducks in NE Queens move to Oakland Lake as it's spring fed with nice warm 55f water so the west end of the lake is always open. Not only that the lake is in a ravine with tall hills on the south, west and north sides so it's well sheltered making it feel warmer there and that's great for both the ducks and the people. There are now about 50 wood ducks in the area all piled into the open water at Oakland Lake mixed in with other types of ducks including that silver wood duck I shared.
