p.2 #1 · What makes of an architecture or landscape an engaging one?
Giovanni,
First, I apologize if you take offense at anything I said. You asked for commentary, and I provided. If you reread what I wrote, you will notice that I did specifically comment that you may have to resort to focus stacking to get both sides of the near field, as well as the distant sea stack, into focus.
I’m a bit of a technical guy, and often look at my own work, clearly seeing flaws that I would require an additional capture. As most of my recent work is on holiday, this is seldom possible. However, it is an interesting task to have the same scene available, to shoot in different seasons, lighting, and framing, until something comes together that meets your personal expectations.
In my opinion, this last image works. Just because I’m an old B&W guy, I right clicked and dropped into Photopea.com, which is an online Photoshop like app. I quickly looked at both the red and green channels, which I believe have great potential for turning into a B&W image by channel mixing. The green channel is not as exciting, and I would probably leave it out of the mix. You could go red channel only, but I think it is a little too aggressive.
No worries, nothing was saved. I have no interest in taking the work of others.
