I visit this hidden gem in every season but find Winter the best when there is snow on the ground. We have had 14 straight days of sub freezing only rising into the mid 20's and wind chills below zero!
HDR brought out what the rust patina really looks like.

Boy, what story this car and cabin could tell Dan.
I love ole places like this.
The entire property is deserted Bill! Lost in the backwoods near Camp David(Presidential retreat).
Thanks brother!

Good find Dan. The cabin still looks solid.
Thanks Jim!
Actually the "cabin" is the 2 cow stall. The "cabin" is to our right. No inside plumbing and a park ranger lives in it...sometimes.. and NOT this Winter! though. Brutal cold and snow this year!
Thanks!

I'd guess that was a lot of miles back then, Dan'l. The initial thought from the title though was Ft. Leonard Wood!

I was Douglas! Today it is just the "break-in" mileage.
Thanks!

The contrast between the rusty orange metal and the clean white snow is fantastic. You’ve really captured the texture of the decay here—those exposed seat springs are a great detail.

Thank you "Double X"!
YES! Caught my eye immediately in the rising sun. Within 10 minutes, the light was gone and the patina also.
WELCOME!
