Carolina Wrens usually appear much more slender than this yet in the unusually cold weather we have been having here in New York City she puffed up her feathers to stay warm. I spotted her in a bush and when she flew to this tree stump I quickly composed taking a few frames. Then her mate called her and she was gone.

Thank you Karl,
For this pair, the male hides in the shrubs and sings while the female is out in the open. I have not seen him yet the female a number of times. I've seen the males singing in the open yet this one is more careful.
