I was looking for a thread dedicated to panos and couldn't find one, so I figured I'd kick off a fresh one. I just really love the format—there’s something about that wide, cinematic perspective that just hits different than a standard frame.
A few simple rules for the thread:
- aspect ratio 2:1 or wider
- how you got there doesn't matter - stitched or cropped both welcome
- any gear is welcome, but style points for film
I'm posting this to the Nikon and Leica / Alternative forums because these happen to be the systems I use most and I can only post to two boards. But I would also love to see images from Sony, Canon, Fuji, etc..
Free version Flickr really kills the resolution on linked images now, which is a real downer for panos, especially for a degenerate like me that makes them from hi-res mode images. I suppose that's the cost of being a cheapass.

Man I wish Fuji would start making Velvia 50 again.. :/
Also never crossed my mind to stitch film shots for panos, sounds expensive 😄
Yeah, I miss cheap Velvia 50.
Stitched MF film panos with my GSW690II that cost me $520 are a lot less expensive than buying a G617/GX617 and doing them natively. I usually just do 2 or 3 frames, 2 frames of 6x9 gets you 2:1, 3 frames covers 17:6.
