I recently bought this lens brand new prior to my trip to Southeast Asia and Melbourne, Australia. It is somewhat heavy and hefty for a travel lens but the handling is excellent with my A7V and vertical grip. I bought it because I want a lens that can to both-----shoot street fashion/lifestyle and beach photography. And it certainly fits that bill. The AF with the A7V is outstanding and wonderful bokeh to boot. The CA and lens flare are both well controlled. Love the rendition of colour and clarity too.
Here are a few images from my trip. Some are NSFW.
28-105 f/2.8 appears to be a great lens, but just not my cup of tea..
i feel i am getting too old to carry 1+ kg lens w/ me for a trip..
Thanks for the kind words and the comments. I'm not that young either. If it was pure travel, I would go with my Sony 16-70/4 OSS and A6700 along with my iPhone. I got the Sigma lens for the genres I like to do which is street fashion and beach photography.
