Another good YT video by Julieanne Kost showing the new Clarity, Dehaze and Grain adjustment layers in PS. She is doing the demo on a beta version of PS but 27.3 has them in the release version

I didn't even notice these layers. I assume they are similar to Lightroom in their affects.
I was also just adding noise to an area that I blurred to make it match the original, but the grain layer seems a better solution.

That’s pretty cool. I use two of the three (dehaze and clarity) quite a bit in ACR as part of my ACR/PS workflow, but it will be useful to have these controls as Photoshop layers, too. (I also would have missed this most likely if I had not seen this post. Thanks.)

Postscript: When I went to look for this in PS I discovered that my installation was no longer automatically updating and I was somehow stuck (and marooned) on the previous version. Half a day later, things are back on track with the new version and I’ve had a chance to see these controls.)

I thought it interesting that she chose to add grain to the smoother areas to match the grainy (noisy) areas, rather than decrease grain/noise in the original areas to match the smoother areas of the gen-fill. I would have liked to see the two approaches as a comparison.
