Any examples of the sunstars from these lenses? I had thought most Voigts used straight blades but apparently (according to Gemini.Google) the X mounts are rounded. Won't this make sunstars more fuzzy?
Why make a new thread? You could have asked that question in your other one.
They all have 10 aperture blades according to the official webpage (which means they are straight, Voigtländer uses 9 curved blades otherwise). Never rely on Ai for information like that, chances that it’s wrong are extremely high. Also you’re wasting a lot of natural resources using AI for such a trivial question.
Lastly, rounded aperture blades make it a bit harder for sunstars to appear. But when the aperture is manufactured with tight tolerances (which Voigtländers are), you usually still get good sunstars stopped down. Just need to stop down a bit further compared to straight blades.
I have found all my Voigts to produce far better sunstars than any other lens I've ever owned. Better than Fuji or Touits.
Skopar 18
Nokton 23 & 35
Ultron 27 & 35 APO macro
I think the Ultron 27 was probably the best of the bunch but only by a small margin. I sold it only because I found the focal length not to my liking and the pancake lens is too small for my hands. But still some of my favorite images were taken with that lens.
I'm hoping the new to me Ultron 35 APO will be my new winner.
