This is a very long five part explanation of all aspects of HDR implementation in camera (X2Dii) and in various editing workflows. A couple things that I didn’t know: You must edit both SDR and HDR separately in order to have the image display properly on all devices. When you export an HDR enabled JPEG, both edits are baked into the HDR JPEG. Also, I discovered in part five that the export of a TIFF from Phocus results in a STD tonal mapped TIFF. I’m not sure if this is true should you export a TIFF while HDR is checked in Phocus. The author suggests that the exported TIFF is still a STD Tiff. Looking at the histogram in LRC seems to support his claim.
