So I Picked up my Z6 III this afternoon and was (not so) delighted to see that suddenly a vertical row of pixels in the EVF is suddenly black - just a line on the left side...visible when shooting, reviewing images, and in the menu, so it's definitely the EVF panel. (no issues with images or the rear LCD).
The one good thing: It happened today, and not 3 weeks from now when my warranty runs out.
So off to Melville it goes - wish me luck for a speedy and effective warranty repair!
Guess I'm a trailblazer. It's almost certainly an issue with either the ribbon cable / signal interface to the panel, or perhaps a fault at a junction on the panel, because today when looking at it again, it was suddenly an all red line (1 pixel width)...then later an all green line. So the signal is messing up and going all on or all off on specific colors on that row.
Well, got notification that the repair is complete and it's on its way back to me. No issues with the warranty...they received, sent it to the shop, and then it was in there for this whole week. I should have it back (hopefully now perfect) on Monday.
Edit: It's back, it's fixed, and looks perfect. They replaced the EVF entirely. Good service from Nikon!
