Hi folks I'm new here at FM. I started getting into wildlife a couple years ago and am still trying to get the hang of things. I have been into photo taking for quite a bit longer, though.
Here's some photos I took recently during a walk around Oxley Nature Center and that includes the very first time I've got a photo of an owl - that was pretty exciting. I wanted to spend more time with the owl but the nature center parking lot had officially closed a few mins before I saw the owl and I could see the flashing lights of the security guy waiting for me to get my truck out so they could lock up
You are off to a nice start. That owl may hang out in the same area and if you are lucky it will nest there

Good point, I'll need to go out there again and see if I can catch the owl there. I think I can park outside of the Nature Center's parking lot and then I'm allowed to be there longer - just a bit longer of a hike. So I'll try that so I have more time with the owl. The nature center is within a larger city park and it's curfew is 11pm but the nature center itself closes at 5pm.
Also, Morris I've in the past read your posts on XH2S settings for birding and want to thank you for taking time to share that information. It was helpful while I was using an xh2s.
Yes again..WELCOME!
You are off to a great start Bruce! These are wonderful compositions.
Don't let your loss of photo time discourage you Bruce. Just re-schedule!
Also I will add this..there have been times when the area I was photographing in had a "closing time". Mainly to get the cars out of the area. BUT..I have found that speaking to the "management" and Security people allowed me "foot time" beyond the closing obstacle. Just mentioning this.
