Yes FTZ II with my 45mm f2.8 PC-E, 85mm f2.8 PC, 105mm f1.4E and 300mm f2.8 VRII. The last 2 use AF just fine, in fact I'd say the 105mm focuses faster now on my Z9 body.
My heavy use with F adapted lens are the two Sigma Art 50 mm 1.4, and 14 mm 1.8 both are my go to for night astro like meteor photography, although the 20 mm F1.8 Z lens is about as good.
I use it with vintage manuals like 35 mm F1.4 thorium of which there is nothing recently equivalent
I have found the II version is quite nice with my F 105, 1.4 and focuses very fast and is useful. I also use it with the F 105 2.8 micro and because the lens is so good and manual is the way to go for macro I have not purchased the Z version
I use the 50 mm D 1.4 for infrared converted Z6II, it is a great lens for deep IR, as is the 180 mm ED 2.8 so FTZ again
I tried to use it for my 500pf, it is too slow for animal photography when I really need the auto and just got a 600 mm Z, I kept the 500pf in case I have an accident with my 600 so I can make do, but it gets little use. The 300 pf in contrast does focus reasonably efficiently- and I sometimes use it because it is so nicely compact.
I only use my FTZ I for manual adapted lenses or manual use (those meteors- besides I like the ability to put the FTZ on the tripod with a heavy lens, the II version is so much better.
I have both an FTZ from my original Z6 kit and FTZII that came with my 500 f/4 E FL. I keep the FTZ and a TC14E-III permanently coupled in the case for the 500 when I pull it out as I don’t worry about the ergonomic differences with that lens.
The FTZII I use with a 58G as well as my old manual AIS primes. Really no plans to stop or change as I enjoy all of them.
When I switched to Z bodies, I intended to switch entirely to Z lenses--great glass, and one mount equals convenience.
But experience diverted me. I find myself with some Z lenses, some F lenses, and one Sony E lens--and am loving the fact that we can use all these and more on our Z cameras. Freedom to use a wide choice of lenses is a win.
After moving to Z bodies, I bought a Sigma Art 40mm f/1.4 for Milky Way panoramas, finding it a highly regarded lens for this purpose. Using it on an FTZ adapter may be better than original intent, as it's a heavy chunk of glass, and the FTZ adapter provides a mount point midway between lens and camera.
I'm increasingly drawn to the Nikon 58mm f/1.4 for its character, and will likely pick one up eventually. Wish Nikon would make it in a Z-mount.
Quite like my two native Z lenses--14-24mm f/2.8 and 180-600mm zoom. Loved my former 14-24m f/2.8 G F-mount, but the Z version equals its center sharpness, but way surpasses it in the corners. Wow.
Will likely sell my 24-70 f/2.8 G F-mount and pick up one of the Z alternatives, because this is a convenience lens and should be, well, convenient.
Torn about selling my (tested cutting-sharp) Nikon 105mm AF-D macro and getting the 105mm MC Z macro. On one hand, the newer lens would be more convenient. On the other hand, my AF-D lens is great at macro, and macro can be done on FTZ. While this lens used to be one of my go-to lenses for portraits, I don't like doing portraiture with an AF-D lens on FTZ--too hard to manually focus on nearest eye. But keeping it would help me justify spending funds on 105mm f/1.4 E, which has character. Tempting.
I have a lot of old and odd lenses that--thankfully--work fine on Z bodies with ATZ and ATZ-II adapters. My high-magnification macro rigs also work fine this way. No plans to change.
I still have a 500mm f/5.6 PF lens on F-mount, and a couple of teleconverters. I used the FTZ extensively over the last few years as the rest of my lenses have slowly transitioned to Z-mount.
I always find using the adapter to be a little fiddly when adding/removing teleconverters, but I still can't really come up with a compelling reason to spend thousands of dollars to upgrade to the 600mm Z-mount when the F-mount lens works great and is optically excellent.
Mind you, I would very much like to have a reason to acquire a shiny new telephoto lens, I just can't talk myself into it.
When I had a mixture of Z- and F-mount lenses and was constantly swapping around, I did find that pretty annoying. I didn't have enough adapters for each lens to have one, so constantly locating and moving around the FTZ was a pain.
