I finally managed to make it to Bosque del Apache, NM after hearning about it for more than 20 years. It was a very brief stay with just 3 days squeezed in.
I get it. It is amazing and the second day was one of my best photography days ever.
Nothing on-line can replicate the actual in-person experience of morning liftoff of thousands of snow geese or the murmuration of red-winged blackbirds and great-tailed grackles.
Needless to say. I will be going back and plan for a longer stay next time.
I don't want to bore folks with images they've already seen done by those better than I so here are just a few. I may share some more later on.
Enjoy! I know I did.
Sunrise on a very cold morning. 15 F/ -9 Celsius
Bird on a stick.
I LOVE when I get the subject and the sun lined up such that the orb of the eye is lit by the sun. My absolute favorite lighting condition.
