A friend is looking for advice about FX mount stuff in the 100-600 range. He's shooting an XT5 and I think for what he does optical performance trumps AF and lens speed. He mostly uses this stuff for construction site documentation in well-to-bright lit circumstance, static subjects (Literally roofs. Far away roofs).
It really seems like the Tamron 150-500 5-6.7 Di iii ought to do the job but he's considering the Fuji 150-600mm just to milk out that extra bit of range.
Anyone have thoughts on these two or other alternatives?
The 150-600 Fuji is stellar for the range, and holds up very well on the 40mp sensor. I understand but never used it so can’t confirm, but apparently the Tamron can have some AF fidgets.
