I have not shot wrestling in over 30 years and the equipment I had then was nothing great. I sold my 70-200 and have left with a Canon 100-300 F2.8 and a 24-70 F2.8 on an R3. I'm assuming the 100-300 will be way too big for a high school wrestling match and the 24-70 will not have the reach i want. Does anyone currently shoot wrestling that could give me some feedback on if the 24-70 will be enough? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Always matside...300 great for action on opposite end of mat and close ups...will upload examples.

If you can sit on the mat or the edge, 135 1.8 is an excellent option as well. Probably better if you have the MP to crop. But 100-300 sounds like a dream.
