p.2 #1 · Would you sell your A7CII if you bought an A7V?
The Sony conundrum, thanks to their segmented lineup, flexibility on the go means two bodies haha. I bought the a1II to be my do it all body, but constantly flipping between photo and video got old fast. So I went back to carrying two bodies.
I liked the size of the a7cII, but I was always using the grip with it because it was just a bit too small for my hands. When the a7v dropped I bought one immediately and sold the cII, absolutely no regrets. The a7v is a massive upgrade in every way, so much faster in use, crazy battery life, better video, more DR, and I love the 4-way tilt screen. I wanted a high rez body to pair with it and scored a great deal on a a7rV. The nice thing is the grip and cages with fit on both. For travel the Tamron 28-200 is my main lens so the added weight of the body isn’t really an issue.
I shoot a lot of video though, so for me the a7v is my main video body and my action/wildlife body. The a7rV compliments it well since the can be setup to be pretty much identical in use. I was looking at the a7cr but there’s not much difference in used prices so I just went with the a7rV to get the huge EVF and the 4-way screen.

I would sell the A7Cii.
If you’re not currently a pro there’s no point having depreciation on 2 bodies

Been shooting Sony for the last 12 years or so. Also have been shooting Canon for the last 30 years and Fujifilm on and off for quite awhile as well. I recently decided to add the A7V even though I know it’s not the same level as my A1 but have some new additions and enhancement I think I really desire. In the A7 family I’ve owned almost every model but for the last two years I’ve been using the A7CII as my main travel body along with the A7CR because of their smaller size and weight I value for travel. The C bodies replaced my A7IV when the A7CII came out. Enter the A7V and I’m thinking I don’t really need both it and the A7CII even though A7CII is smaller. The difference now is that Sony now has quite a few small fast zooms and primes that keep a travel kit lighter than they had available with the A7IV.
So I’m thinking a travel kit with the A7V and A7CR only increases the weight by ~180 grams compared with one using the A7CII. No reason to go back to using larger lenses if I don’t really need them. I.e. the FE 24-50/2.8 G vs the FE 24-70/2.8 GM II unless there is a real need?

My main camera is the a7rv. I really wanted to have a smaller body, with the newest menus so I tried the a7cII. I am a viewfinder shooter and I really couldn't live with that tiny awful viewfinder, so I returned it. Granted, this is my personal experience... Lots of folks (especially the younger generations) use just the back monitor screen so this is not a problem for them.

I use back screen because generally shoot from hip, especially my kids, but the articulating screen doesn't work as well.
