p.1 #1 · Laowa 35/2.8 Tilt Shift for GFX

Not as interested in the shifted performance but in terms of a straight 35/2.8 for GFX this lens might be interesting.

Link to Venus Laowa page

Edit: not sure why the image and link aren't working, maybe FM doesn't accept BB Code anymore 🤷‍♂️

Ohhh, interesting! Too large and heavy for me (would prefer f/4), but still nice with a shift lens that isn't ultra wide.

Edit: Unclear if tilt and shift can be rotated in relation to each other or not. Personally I would only want tilt and shift in the same direction, which for unknown reasons is not default.

Kind of too bad that its not really a Medium Format lens. Since it has a larger image circle for T&S, it works on MF with a reduced T&S range. I wonder if the image circle is any different that the Canon versions. At least they don't charge more for the GF mount.

The Canon lenses are much wider (and a bit slower) or narrower, so doesn't really make sense to compare. Personally I have no interest at all in 24 mm or wider T/S lenses, but 35-45 would be nice. And I don't think I would need more than 8 mm of shift.

However, the lens is huuuuge. So I suspect that it's pretty good. The Canon lenses are definitely not medium format at least, so...
