The "Filoli Estate" in Woodside, CA hosts multiple events throughout the year. During Christmas, they decorate as it would have been when in use back in the 1920's. Here is a simple "walk through" series. All were taken with the Fuji XH2 and Viltrox 25 "air" lens, and the lens has my nostalgia filter attached (cineswirl 1) for the entire series. Nothing spectacular, just fun to share -- it really did feel like I had stepped back into 1925 for a few minutes. The last few are the period appliances in the kitchen and the butler's office which was also his bedroom. Merry Christmas everyone!
And, yes, we go to that "local mansion" regularly. My wife got a membership so that she could do her macro photography in the garden as often as she wants, and sometimes I go along. We've been there for the Christmas events, too. :-)
As a cook and bread baker, I get jealous every time I enter that kitchen with its huge spaces and... separate room for preparing baked goods!

Indeed Dan! The huge main kitchen, separate bakers "proofing" kitchen, walk in pantry, walk in safe in the kitchen to store valuables and silverware, and then a wine and cheese "cooling" room, all connected to that main kitchen. It reminded me of Downton Abby . Truly a peek into how the top 1/10th or possibly 1/100th of 1% lived in the roaring 20's.
PS: Next year I hope to get there and photograph the "troll" exhibit -- it was apparently exceptional this year and I missed it.

If you have wandered around the grounds, I'll bet you can figure out where this is...
I mentioned the safe in the kitchen above, here's a shot. And while the grounds and gardens are stunning during spring and early summer, the facility does indeed make for exceptional B&W compositions too.
