I have been printing for some time but using my very old Photoshop PS5 and getting good results, but with the newer iMac obviously the new OS will not support my old PS or LR (last versions before the new paradigm to rent). I have Capture One, ON1 and Affinity software but printing from these has not been very successful. Has been very difficult to not get very dark prints. The display has been calibrated and the colors are normally fine, but the brightness difficult control. Does anyone have good success printing with any one of these pieces of software and if so what your advice might be to me to have better success. Thank you for any help. BTW I tried the free version of Qimage but did not have great success with it given the limited number of prints you can do with the free version.
Sounds like everyone so far like Qimage and that sounds fair. Does anyone actually print from any of the editing software that I currently own with good results (Capture One, ON1 or Affinity)?

I don't use Mac so I can't speak to that. But I would be comfortable in guessing that it is virtually the same
Just a point of clarification....my splash screen says I am running Qimage Ultimate (I guess that's the name for the PC version). I just updated it to the latest version which is 2026.109 a couple of days ago.

For me...I started using Qimage back in the day because I was not having much luck printing directly from any other program. One you get it set up properly it pretty much runs itself. There is (well....used to be anyway) a forum for Qimage that helped me quite a bit when I first started using it. If I remember right it's on the Qimage home page.
An additional perk is that once you buy the program, all updates are no charge. I have never had to pay for an update in 15 + years.

Ok, looks like I need to get Qimage and hope it works well enough for me in the Mac world. It would be nice if you could manipulate the image a bit in the software but maybe that’s possible in the Windows world with the Ultimate version. Thank you for all your help and contributions.
What does Qimage give you that Canon PPL software goes not? I’m just trying to understand why I need Qimage in addition to PPL. I’m awaiting delivery of my Canon 1100 tomorrow. TIA

Qimage One for printing only. For Mac.
Andrew Wilford (from Binartem/QimageOne), is (ofcourse) very knowledgeable, very helpful and fast in support/questions, if needed. Great customer support!
After experiences with both the Qimage One printing software and the accurate and fast support, I bought myself a "life long license" (which isn't expensive at all anyway).
