p.1 #1 · Field positions for (American) football? What do you think?

Now that we're on the downhill side of the 2025 football season, here's a video I updated after 17 years about shooting positions for football. It's not complicated..I have basically three that I generally use. One, significantly more than the other two.

What shooting position(s) do you prefer and why? If you're newer to shooting football, how did you feel about the season as it relates to your positioning on the field? Were you happy with the gear you had to use from those positions? What might you try/do differently next season?

Having already watched this video, I definitely consciously picked a spot between the hashes and the numbers behind the end zone when shooting last week. I don't know how that differed from my normal shooting positions, but it was cool to put into practice.

First...36 Sousaphones? That is a tuba centric marching band!

I always begin at the corner of the bench. I shoot for a local newspaper so I want to capture a couple of easy "sure shots" up front. I want to get the home team quarterback or running back in the backfield, or home team defenders rushing the passer. Then I move to the end zone just outside the hashmarks. When a team is driving close to the goal line it helps to be familiar with their plays. They all have the end zone corner pass they practice everyday, so I want to be in position to capture it with the player coming at me which means I move over to the corner and back up. They don't pull it off every game, so when I get that shot I feel like the blind squirrel, and like the squirrel, very happy I got it.
