p.1 #1 · Laowa 180 F/4.5

I recently but a Laowa F/4.5 (z mount) and want to install the latest update. Supposedly this requires connecting the lens to my computer with a USB cable. The lens is supposed to then show up as a new drive on my computer. Unfortunately, in my case, it doesn't show up! Can anybody suggest a fix or an explanation as to what i doing wrong?

Make sure you are not using a charge only usb cable.

Good point. A USB data cable usually has thicker ends and cable. Your camera may have come with a USB data cable.

The lens will not be displayed as a drive on your computer. I wrote somewhere else how to update FW on viltrox lens, you can read it here.
