I've sold to them many times (maybe over 20 items). I usually keep my gear in good condition including the original boxes and such, and have had my quotes upgrade by like $15-$20 because of the original boxes and accessories. Shipping from NJ is fast to them, and they usually get back in a reasonable amount of time. Sometimes within the same day they are delivered to mpb, I'd get the final pay email asking what account to get paid. Sometimes it may take close to a week after delivery to get it checked and final pay email sent. The pay is also quite fast after you provide the details (like a day or so). No need to account for filing taxes with them.
I've also had times when they've downgraded the quote, and if it's too low, they can send it back to you for free. Quite convenient and hassle-free.
I never had MPB upgrade my quote -- only downgrade it. Still pleased though. One time, they tried to ding me for excluding a battery charger. I told them to go look again. They found it and updated the quote.
Thanks everyone, well I’m about to ship off my d850, 24-70 f/2.8E and 70-200 f/2.8E to MPB.
I know it’s silly to get sentimental about gear, but this kit has seen me through some of my most important projects all over the world, a pandemic, and paid the bills and it pains me a bit to let them go, especially when I know that the shutter actually has more like 20k mechanical actuations.
That said, I am going back to Korea this April for some personal work, and I specifically did not bring my D850 last time because an all Z mirrorless kit was going to be smaller, lighter and better for video, so it seems like it’s a good time to let my f-mount kit go. Best camera I’ve ever had!
I've been buying and selling with them for several years now. No problems. While the d850 shutter is rated at 200000, MPB does list several with over that number of clicks as "EXCELLENT", go figure.
My hope is that they have a big enough operation that they inspect the shutter mechanism for wear and base the final appraisal on that, rather than just the shutter count, especially considering the newer shutterless design of the z8 makes the shutter count a little less reliable as an indicator of wear.

My only sell to them was a 500/4 G VR which I bought for the total solar eclipse and held onto... a little too long to maximize resale value. Ended up getting more from them in quote than expected, and it was SUPER easy to sell/ship and they ended up grading it up a bit in condition and price from what i advertised it at (which was an honest assessment on their part).
My purchase from them was a CV 35 f/2 APO for Z mount (first version). It was in like new shape as described and I've been so happy with it I never even thought about just trialing/sending it back under warranty at any point.
Thanks everyone for your input. My D850, 24-70 and 70-200 are on their way to MPB now.
Once I got everything boxed up and ready, the literal weight of the package was actually what convinced me it was the right move. I've been lugging this kit around as a backup, but since I picked up the Z8 and Z9, I don't think I've used it on a job in a year.
I'll report back on the quote and if they up or downgrade it once it arrives.

I don't think that's silly at all! Cameras are expensive, precisely made items that are present during some of life's most consequential moments, be that a big job, a wedding, a family vacation, you name it. The very first thing my X100V ever did was take a picture of my now wife. Since then, it's been slung around my shoulder for countless road trips, overnights, holidays, and so on, and because of that, it holds a sentimental value for me far beyond its actual monetary value or, likely, its useful lifespan. This is not to say that we should *never* part with something that holds sentimental value -- all good things, etc. -- but I don't think it's silly in the slightest to regard a camera in the same way that some regard a watch or a ring or a car.
Just following up on this, they only gave me a small ding for the nearly 200k actuations on the d850 and gave me a great price for the 24-70 f2.8E, so I accepted their offer on those. Honestly wouldn’t have been able to get more for the combo selling private party so I feel like it worked out great for those items. They downgraded their offer on the 70-200 f2.8E because it didn’t have the case or original foot, so I asked them to send those back to me. All in all happy with my experience, as I was having seller’s remorse on the 70-200 f2.8E so it worked out perfectly for me.
