Two zone focus is pretty funny. It's like an upgraded ultrawide toy camera. But $99 is going to be an easy sell and probably bring in a lot of new enthusiasts.
This is exactly the sort of thing that I want for the Thanksgiving/Christmas get-togethers this year. When can I get one?
Two-zone focus isn't a miss. I have RETO's and I have a fixed 18 f/8 for Z's, and they're super fun but I frequently wish I could basically do a near focus or far focus setting. Plus the RETO's don't have flash, which is requisite for something like this to function indoors.
I think you are right. It's what makes a Holga surprisingly useful. Also think the 24mm is good with a near field focus setting to get that up-close environmental distortion. This thing probably rips on Kentmere 400.
It's a throwback to the party cameras of the 1990's, A lot like the Canon Snappy. The flash has enough coverage for an average room and it offers red eye reduction. If it's made just a bit better than the Harman EZ 35, it could be a winner.

Exactly, how I want to use the ultra-wides is usually closer or for stuff like arms-length selfies, and fixed focus towards infinity doesn't work as well.
My pre-order is in. I admit, this may be a reaction to receiving yet another broken AF Slim Zoom from eBay and my general dissatisfaction with going the used P&S route.

I like the design and the two focus zones are probably good enough (although I would prefer three zones: close, hyperfocal, true infinity). Not a fan of the fixed 1/100s though..
My Kodak Snapthing arrived today. Predictably, it's a day late for the Christmas stuff.
First impressions are actually very positive. The grip section feels great and it feels like there's enough space to not get your fingers in every shot (we'll find out if that's really the case), but it's also still pocketable. The auto advance and auto load features are responsive, and the little screen is actually really nice to have as it shows flash mode, focus zone, battery, and frame count. Thought I'd ignore the screen, but I actually really like it.
Won't get to see the test roll until later next week, but first impressions are way more positive than I expected.
It seems so odd that it only has one aperture setting, and one shutter speed..
..is it at least able to adjust the exposure a bit via its flash output, or does that only have one "setting" as well? 🙂
I know colour negative is forgiving, but still.. that's gonna be a lot of shots per roll that aren't that great.
