I often struggle with the aesthetics of many relatively famous wildlife photographers. Lots of sharpness, lots of detail, often high key and high contrast, little to no expressiveness.
Oh my, what a breath of fresh air. The expressiveness of many of her images is absolutely amazing, consistent with the general trend in the work of UK nature photographers towards high levels of subtlety. David Ward's mantra captures that perfectly - simplicity, mystery, beauty.
Take a look at her portfolio, buy her ebook, subscribe to her channel, and maybe take a tour with her. I am just a new admirer of her work, not a shill.
PS I had mis-spelled her last name (it is Bigsby, not Bixby), mistake is now corrected in the OP.
Photography is an artform yet many are simply technicians. Of the images you picked out from Ms. Bixby, only the first is to my taste and it's a stunner.
I've always been drawn to abstract images found nature and most of what I see has been of plants. This, with wildlife, is not often seen but highly appreciated. Thanks for sharing this with us.
