p.1 #1 · Sigma 300-600mm F/4 + Sony A9iii for sports?
Hi, I have questions since I can not find any info about Sigma 300-600mm F/4 + Sony A9iii for sports. I also posted this on other forum as well.
I wonder if anyone tested Sigma 300-600mm F/4 + Sony A9iii for sports lately? I know it wont be as good as GM versions but I just can not find any test videos that I wanted to check cause all test videos were uploaded 8 months ago when the lens announced, tested with pre-production versions, and not tested with A9iii.
So if you have Sigma 300-600mm F/4 + Sony A9iii, how did it perform for sports photography? Does it still works with AF while zooming? Any limitations you faced other than no TC and 15 FPS?

If you're spending the money for a body that shoots 120fps as its main feature, not sure that you would want to skimp on a lens that limits to 15 (and is f4 max). I think I saw that AF does NOT work while zooming. I think the Sigma is an impressive lens but I'm not sure what the niche is.

No the lens is NOT parafocal. However, depending on how one shoots sports that really may not be as big an issue as it first sounds. The limiting of Sony bodies to 15 fps may be a bit more concerning. No question one can effectively shoot sports action at this rate but this brings into the equation the shooter's skill level & technique. Take a look at these two threads.
