Many Thanks! Lüneburg is a beautiful town with approximately 77.000 inhabitants about 50 km / 31 mi southeast of Hamburg. It is a pretty well known touristic destination among German and Central European people, also because of the Lüneburger Heide landscape west of it, but as not well known internationally as some towns like e.g. Rothenburg ob der Tauber or the UNESCO World Heritage sites Bamberg, Quedlinburg, Stralsund etc., which attract many bus loads of tourists during travel season.
I was a bit lucky when I took the photo about one year ago. Unlike in summer, most parasols of the restaurants were closed so that the first floor of the buildings could be seen almost completely. On the other hand, it was a pretty warm day for early November. You would not expect people to sit outside on the restaurant terraces next to the river that time of year normally.
Unfortunately, I did not expect to stay until evening that day, so I did not have a tripod with me. Maybe I get another opportunity during the next weeks, this place is just 30 minutes from home. But I don't expect people sitting outside this time.
I only made it once to the US yet and many places shown here in this forum may not be known well for me either. I visited the main attractions of Florida many years ago and stayed for one week in Miami Beach right after it. I planned to go to California and the Western part of Nevada several times, including Yosemite National Park as one of the most interesting places, but still did not manage.
