As I shot at Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge here in New York City, I witnessed this female Northern Harrier flying along the edge of the West Pond hunting. This allowed me to photograph her in different light and with varying backgrounds.

I love that first image, but I would suggest pulling up the shadows on the bird a bit to show more feather detail. Regardless, it's a wonderful capture!
