Nice captures for the feel of this part of the Mother Road. It's like a living museum of pre-Interstate "road trip" travel in the U.S. southwest. BTW, in April 2021, gas there was $3.29, $3.59 and $3.99. I haven't been past Petrified Forest going east, but have traveled the more western sections of Route 66 several times. I swap back and forth between 66 and I-40, often going through the old cities on the business routes, etc.

Thanks Craig...I've mostly driven Route 66 through Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. I need to experience more of the sections both east and west of that.

Thanks...I've photographed that motel three times. The first time was frustrating. I was all set up and ready to shoot when a car pulled up right in front of me with its headlights shining in my lens. I figured that it was no big deal as the driver would quickly get checked in at the office and move along. No such luck. He talked to at the counter for at least 20 minutes while his car was there with the headlights on.
The second time I was there the vintage car wasn't there. The motel was closed for the season.

As soon as I saw the "Winslow,AZ" mural, I thought of the "Eagles hit song"- Take IT Easy"..Stuckey's....always a "roadmark" to stop for a "pecan log" when travelling!

Thanks Dan...yes, that Eagles song gets a lot of play in Winslow!
Pic #11 my favorite. Would be a nice print on the wall.
It magically has so many elements in it while the whole pictures is so clean and not making me nervous to watch!
