I was shooting the Pitt Louisville football game and I came across a photo that is normally an instant delete. I don't know how I spotted it but I noticed that even though the AF wasn't where I wanted it, it was actually in a better place than I planned.
I have other boring photos of a player just crossing into the end zone. This would have been one of them. Instead, I actually really prefer this version and, although I wish there was more excitement in some of the other people on the sidelines, this photo to me captures the excitement of fans in college football.
These for me are very very rare. How about you? Why not share a photo that you were not planning for that turned out better than you planned it? You have to admit a mistake (well...for this photo the mistake is obvious - no way I was planning on focusing on this fan). Also it's what's important to you. Others might not like my photo but to me at this stage in my photography it captures something better for me.
Glad you guys like it! I think it also might be a good idea for me to go through some older photos (past year or two) to see if I haven't discarded some other "gems".
It is not only the game and players that make a good image, and you captured it from a view of other participants, for me this is a classic image, worthy of hanging on the wall. After a goal, touch down field goal or what ever I immediately look to the crowd or others to try and find just what you captured. Brilliant. Bruce
