Shot this as a self-portrait high above the valley, dressed in western gear and working with the campfire and lantern for light balance. I wanted to capture that quiet space between warmth and wilderness — along with a sense of nostalgia and the moment when the day fades, the fire crackles, and the moon takes over.

Thanks for the feedback Douglas. That’s a fair criticism and one I was thinking about too. I had only planned a general scene to shoot a cowboy at dusk and the lantern was going to be used as a background or foreground element, but in the moment working quickly in the fading light came up with this. You’re absolutely right though, next time better planning will definitely help.

The first is my pick, here, Scott! Though, it might work better without the two competing "fires".

Nice triangle you composed in the last one. That's my favorite. Perfect time of day to shoot for that special lighting.
I always love the colors of your work. In particular you always seem to have the red/orange with the blues. It always gives a great vibe to all your work. I think they are all great however the first is my favorite.

That's very kind of you to say Joel, thank you very much! I do like working with complementary colors and glad that often comes through!
