So funny Nikon is actually taking my Zf back because of the material is kind of misaligned, so the Nikon Rep is giving me a new one. That's the first thing I noticed, pretty much every panel had some issues with the material, minor, but still visible.
Finally arrived today, the Thypoch Simera 28/1.4 Z in silver.
Next to it is my father's trusty old CZJ 58/2 Biotar Pre-Set with 12 aperture blades from the late 1950s.
It has been in use within the family for over 65 years, so it looks quite worn, but it still works fine.
From Pentax Spotmatic, via Canon A-1, Canon New F-1, to Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z8, the Biotar has experienced and supplied them all and will probably outlive even the Z6/Z8.

Now I just need a silver Zf.
Can you tell me what FD to Z adapter that you recommend?
High-quality Novoflex and Rayqual adapters come with very tight tolerances and very good build quality, both are considered the “peace of mind” solutions in this area, but this is also reflected in the price.
For former high-end optics that are still comparatively valuable, such as the Canon FD 85/1.2 L or the FD 20-35/3.5 L, it was worth it to me.
For less valuable FD lenses, however, I would probably also opt for the K&F II FD to Z adapter.
An adapter from Novoflex or Rayqual is likely to be more expensive than many used FD lenses themselves.
The K&F Concept FD to Z adapter is generally the budget recommendation.
Otherwise, there is a good article on adapters here.
Although the Adapter Guide is aimed at E-mount, Novoflex and Rayqual are also the first choice for Z-mount with FD when it comes to maximum quality, highest degree of manufacturing, rather than price.
Zero play, both are also optimized internally to suppress any flare that could be generated by the adapter.

Nikon took your camera back after you heavily customized it?

Yesterday. Literally yesterday but one day only. Also plena was not on sale, so you didn't miss it.
Yeah, it was surprising that it came and went so quickly. I didn't see anything obvious there jump out at me so I'm ok that I missed it. Those deals on the Z5II and Z6III were nice though. I have way too many camera bodies however, and really there's no excuse for me not to make due with the camera bodies that I have. I only have 2 hands, lol.

Picked me up the Silver Zf Sepia during this sale. I sanded and stained the grip and added the shutter button as a cherry on top.
Sweet color scheme! If you have never seen his work, check out Adrian Prada's remake's of all kinds of cameras, not only are they the best custom cameras I have ever seen, they are some of the best art period I have ever seen.
