I can tell that you're having a great time on your trip. Thanks for bringing us along. And, BTW, these from the GC are most excellent!!
@Al Trujillo, do you know when your 2026 trip will be? I知 strongly leaning toward coming back next fall. I値l likely stat shooting the final week of September again up north and eventually work my way down.
From your previous comments it sounds like Utah has gotten into your blood

I haven't thought that far down the calendar yet. If we decide to shoot the changing Aspen it would be an earlier trip (late Sept.) and we saw some things along the San Rafael Swell that we'd visit later in October. I wish I could do as you've done and give it an entire month. Are you thinking of giving White Pocket a go in 2026?

Sounds good, Al. I bet you will spend more extensive time in Utah during retirement.
I thought long and hard about White Pocket, as I have considered it for many years, but the bottom line is I知 just not very comfortable with driving that sandy road by myself, especially since I would be shooting until dusk and then having to drive out in total darkness, it痴 beyond my comfort level. On a future trip I may hire a local guide who lets me still drive my 4WD truck in, because I do want to learn how to navigate sandy roads better, conquer my fear, and build some confidence.

Adam, are you leading workshops in the GC?
Yes, I lead workshops at the Grand Canyon and have been doing so since 2010. I hold a Commercial Use Authorization (CUA) issued by the National Park Service which permits me to lead photo tours and workshops in the park. I run small group (typically no more than six participants) workshops during the summer monsoon and I do one winter trip. The rest of the year I offer 1-on-1 private tours and workshops.
I also run photography expeditions on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon with trips running from 10 days to 14 days, and every few years I run an 18-day trip. For these trips, I charter a commercial river trip through an NPS-approved guiding outfit, and the boatmen are all professional guides with years of experience in the canyon and on the river. I've been working with my current team since 2019 and the head boatman is a geologist, and one of the other boatman is a naturalist specializing in the flora and fauna of the Grand Canyon. The river trips are part photo tour, part workshop, and full on adventure.

These are all fantastic, love the 3rd especially for the pop of light and the atmosphere in the 4th.
Was lucky enough to visit in '03 on a day trip from Vegas but the weather was crud, solid grey cloud
