100mm GM: STF v Macro f2.8

p.1 #1 · 100mm GM: STF v Macro f2.8

Has anyone got any pictures to compare these lenses? Obviously the Macro focuses closer, but the STF is good enough for product photos, etc. The difference will be in the rendering, assuming that the Macro is stopped down to f4 to make the depth of field comparable.

Not sure I understand this. When shooting both at F2.8 (STF is at T5.6) at the same distance, their DoF are the same.

Well the T is f5.6, but at f2.8, the STF depth of field seems to be nearer f4 equivalent on a normal lens.
