Last weekend we stopped by Fern Canyon again on our way home from Oregon. As soon as we turned off Hwy 101 we saw a herd of Roosevelt Elk at Elk Meadow Picnic Area. We've been to this spot a few times but had never seen any elk there before. This big male was keeping the herd inline and making sure everyone knew who was in charge.
