p.1 #1 · FE glass: Adapting Sony full-frame, mirrorless lenses to non-Sony, crop-frame bodies
How widely adaptable are Sony E-mount lenses? I've read good things about using them on Z-mount bodies. What about crop-frame Z bodies such as Nikon Z50?
What other options are available when using Sony FE glass on digital bodies from Pentax, Fujifilm, Canon, Panasonic etc?
Is there any way to rig E-mount lenses to shoot film?

Z mount is about the only body (FF or APSC) an e-mount lens will fit on. The lens (and camera system) has to have a larger flange distance (the distance between the camera body lens flange to the surface of the sensor) than the body you want to attach it to. The difference is where the adapter goes, so if the lens has a smaller flange distance it would have to be recessed into the camera body.
You can look up flange distances here. And as you can see a Z mount is 16mm while a Sony E is 19mm, so the adapter has to be 3mm thick, and this allows the lens to focus properly on infinity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flange_focal_distance
