Yeah, if the seller says X price is inclusive of all duties, taxes, and fees, then you should be good. If the courier charges you, you can probably be recouped in that instances. I stopped using eBay, but I do remember many overseas sellers would write that they are not responsible for any additional duties or fees incurred. So it's important to clarify this I think.

It’s a way to charge a 15% tax on the American people, without calling it a tax. Very clever way to funnel more money to the billionaires.

I thought that the tariffs will be paid by "other countries". At least that's what I was told and sold.
Bought a few items recently from AliExpress and the prices clearly stated that it is all inclusive including the tariffs. The items included a Panasonic MFT lens.
EBay is a different story and it is a hit or miss with tariffs and I see prices from Japanese sellers lower than before - likely due to the tariff situation.

That's interesting. I just received a LIfeGuard skin from Taiwan, several says ago, (delivered by FedEx) and there has been no mention of duties or tariffs.
FedEx bills for duty and brokerage charges separately. They often take up to a month after the parcel has been delivered before they get around to trying to collect their money.

Map Camera's (Japan) ebay store has notes that US buyers don't have to pay to pay import fees. Has anyone tried buying from them recently?
I emailed them and they confirmed they're shipping duties prepaid.

I bought a Thypoch lens recently, and asked them about this—it turned out they have an inventory of lenses already in the US which were shipped before the tariff hikes. Don't know how long that'll last!

Oh that's interesting. Do you know if the listing for your lens has that mentioned anywhere?

I ordered a Thypoch 28mm in the sale. It shipped yesterday and today I got a bill for $107 tariff on a $399 lens. I don’t want it at that price but don’t know how to refuse delivery and still get a refund.

Yes... I received the Fedex invoice for the Tariff about a month later, related to my LIfeGuard skin.
What is interesting is that I have purchased several lenses and an L-bracket from China and never received an added invoice, even at a later date.

Sounds like you are probably stuck. Refusing delivery is likely to cause a headache dealing with the seller to get a refund, and you might still be on the hook for the tariffs (I can only imagine how fun it would be to try to claim a refund/reversal of the tariff from whatever entity is responsible for such things.)

I used to buy allot of stuff from the US when I was in Asia. It was an expensive mess. I learned to stay clear of Fed-ex at all costs. I have paid up to 100% of the value on the item in VAT.
Looks like the same thing is happening now in the US. I looked on e-bay and it looks like the lenses from Japan are being discounted to help with the VAT.
A couple of months ago when I was at my house in the US I ordered allot of auto parts directly from China and had no problems what so ever. No VAT..

Well, on the bright side, the Thypoch 28mm has absolutely proven itself to be worth a whole lot more than the price even with tariffs. However, it's also now on sale on BH, for under $400, no tariff.
