I'm trying to pick best option here - I have Nikon Zf camera and 58G lens adapted with FTZII.
Is there any Z mount lens that is closest to the 58G's rendering, bokeh and overall image quality?
50/1.8S would be too clinicially perfect I suppose.
50/1.4 fits better in terms of inperfection and image look of 58G, I think, maybe I'm wrong?
I wish there was 58G in Z flavor, so I could get rid of adapter, but there is no and I think Nikon will not make one in the future anyway, so trying to find similar one in Z. Am I right that 50/1.4 is closest?
I'm no expert but in short, no, there's nothing in the Z lineup that is similar to the 58G -- it is a very unique lens as you know. But the newer f1.4 Z's provide more character and are less "clinical" that most Z lenses.
There is nothing really comparable in the Z-mount.
In terms of optical aberrations, the Z 50/1.4 may come closest, but that does not make it comparable in terms of rendering/bokeh.
The best decision would probably be to stick with what you value so much, the lens whose rendering/bokeh is exactly what you want.
In this case, the AF-S 58/1.4G, and not to look for a twin that doesn't exist.
I think it's a bad idea to replace the lens whose rendering/bokeh/look you love just to get rid of the FTZ.
If it were a question of weight/dimensions, but even then, switching to a Z 50/1.4 basically doesn't make any difference.
The Z 50/1.4 is not only 35g heavier, but also has almost the same dimensions as an AF-S 58/1.4G including FTZ.
The end result is that you get rid of the FTZ without generating any significant advantages in terms of weight and dimensions, but in return you lose a lens whose rendering seems to fit you like a glove, for a lens that doesn't have that magic.

Thanks Vento, you confirmed something that was in my head already, looks like 58G gonna stay.
50mm is not my favourite focal length, but every time I look at the photos I took with it, I feel like there is some magic in that redering. Not in MFD, but a bit further, even at 1.4. Weirdly nice lens
As well as the 58 G, I'm currently using a couple of inexpensive 'characterful' third party Z Mount lenses, namely the Syoptic 50mm f/1.1 and the 50mm TTArtisan 1.4 Tilt.
Syoptic
TTArtisans
Don't be concerned about the vignetting on the shell image, it's not the lens but purely a conceit on my part.
