p.1 #1 · Adapting non-Leica lenses to the SL3/SL3S
Just wondering who is having good experiences while doing the above.
I have just acquired a Hasselblad V to L mount adapter and am trying out various V glass on the SL3.
I understand it is important to tell the SL3 the focal length of the lens being used and myself I have set the refresh rate to 120hz.
Doing the above makes the experience pretty straight forward and enjoyable. I must mention I did not do this at first and it was NOT an enjoyable experience. RTFM.
p.1 #4 · Adapting non-Leica lenses to the SL3/SL3S
I appreciate the experimentation ... and it reminds me of using my M645 glass on EF mount days (pre-Leica / Hassy).
But, with owning the X2D Hassy, I'm not quite sure I see the rationale (or just purely fun experimentation) for doing so, instead of mounting them on the Hassy. What does the SL3 / SL3S offer that the Hassy doesn't. Pixel density is a wash with the SL3 vs. X2D. IBIS in both, allegedly better IBIS in Hassy. HNCS colors and 16 bit in Hassy.
Even if you go with "sweet spot" of smaller FF format, you can still crop to the same with the Hassy file. Raves about the superior ergo of the Hassy, etc.
What am I missing as the catalyst of expectation for mounting to the SL3 / SL3-S? TBH, kinda surprising given some other dialogues about the relationship of the SL vs. the Hassy?
