So I'm going to photograph an inside classical music concert, The lens I have is a 180-600 5.6 6.3, the 6.3 concerns me a little, I'm sure I could dial up the ISO, I think I would be most comfortable with an ISO around 6400. The camera would be on a mono pod. I have a Nikon Z9, Z8 and a Z6II. I think the Z6III would give me the best low light images but I'm more comfortable with the Z9 focusing. has anyone else shot concerts with this lens? what camera did you use?
thanks,
Dave
The z6III has the option of a mechanical shutter while the Z8 and Z9 do not. In case the lighting causes banding due to the (rolling) electronic shutter, I would have the Z6III with you either as primary or bavkup in either case. However, if you are required to be silent then the Z8/9 will do that better. Your lens is a bit slow but it will let you get close framings of musicians with some luck in positioning. Test different shutter speeds to see what effect works best.
