My wife and I took a trip up the Oregon coastline to recreate our first trip together 25 years ago. Both times we followed a couple simple rules. We didn't have any solid plans and we didn't make any reservations in advance. The weather cooperated for the first few days but then the rain moved in and we had to improvise. We wound up heading South earlier than we had hoped so on Saturday we headed to Point Reyes for a night. We arrived around 4pm and our first stop turned out to be a good one. We wound up spending the rest of the afternoon in basically the same location. We were about half way down the road when we saw a group of photographers. We parked the truck and then a bobcat ran across the road about 100 yards in front of us. We wound up watching her nap for about an hour before she finally woke up, yawned, stretched and then strolled off into the bushes.

What a neat find! Great looks, especially the yawn. I hope it wasn't feeling ill, I can't think of too many reasons for it to remain long out in the open, but it sure looks healthy enough to me. Nice work.

thank you. This particular bobcat has grown up in a very busy area for photographers. She's well known and basically ignores people unless they get too close.
